Ένας αστυνομικός της ομάδας ΔΙΑΣ σκοτώθηκε το μεσημέρι στον καταυλισμό τσιγγάνων στη Νέα Ζωή Ασπροπύργου και άλλος ένας τραυματίστηκε σοβαρά όταν η μοτοσικλέτα τους εμβολίστηκε από φορτηγό.
Διερευνώνται τα ακριβή αίτια κάτω από τα οποία προκλήθηκε το τροχαίο.
Σύμφωνα ωστόσο με τις πρώτες πληροφορίες, το δυστύχημα συνέβη την ώρα που ένα από τα φορτηγά που είχαν αποκλείσει περιπολικό που βρισκόταν ήδη στον καταυλισμό κινήθηκε με ταχύτητα προς τη μοτοσικλέτα την οποία εμβόλισε.

Νεαρός αστυνομικός της ομάδας Δίας έχασε τη ζωή του στο Ζεφύρι.
Η ομάδα ΔΙ.ΑΣ. είχε κληθεί στην περιοχή με αφορμή τα επεισόδια σε καταυλισμό τσιγγάνων. Έτσι, κάτω από αδιευκρίνηστες συνθήκες, η μηχανή στην οποία επέβαιναν οι δύο αστυνομικοί, συγκρούστηκε με φορτηγάκι στο οποίο επέβαινε αθίγγανος.
Σύμφωνα με τα πρώτα στοιχεία το ατύχημα έγινε όταν ΙΧ αυτοκίνητο παραβίασε STOP και χτύπησε τη μοτοσικλέτα στην οποία επέβαιναν οι δύο αστυνομικοί.
Σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες, ο δεύτερος αστυνομικός νοσηλεύεται σε σοβαρή κατάσταση.
Για το περιστατικό διενεργείται προανάκριση από την Τροχαία.
«Η ομάδα ΔΙ.ΑΣ. και πάλι θρηνεί», αναφέρει σε ανακοίνωσή του ο ΛΑ.Ο.Σ. «Δύο παιδιά ‘συγκρούστηκαν με τον θάνατο’ κατά την εκτέλεση των καθηκόντων τους. Η Πολιτεία πρέπει να συμπαρασταθεί στην οικογένεια του νεκρού και να καταβάλλει κάθε προσπάθεια να ελαφρύνει τον πόνο στον σοβαρά τραυματισμένο», προσθέτει. .
